17th Annual Blizzard of Books at SLDL Spice up Your Life with Books!

The Blizzard of Books Reading Club will begin January 4, 2010, and continue through March 20, 2010.  The theme for 2010’s reading club is Spice Up Your Life with Books!  Book club participants can earn prizes for the books they read, and are eligible for weekly drawings for gift certificates from Pruebelo Mexican Restaurant in Spring Lake.  

Those high school age and older may read or listen to any five books or unabridged books on tape or play-a-ways to qualify for an assortment of prizes and to be eligible to enter the grand prize drawing. Mp3 audio books are also an option for reading club participants.  Digital audio books are available to download by visiting the library's website, www.sllib.org.  All books must be checked out from and returned to Spring Lake District Library or downloaded from the library's website to qualify for the Blizzard of Books.   

The reading club is sponsored by the Friends of Spring Lake District Library.  Participants will have a variety of prizes to choose from. In addition to tote bags, prizes will include video/DVD coupon books, Lakeshore Superwash car wash coupons, chocolates, and nuts. 

Reading club participants who read five books may enter the grand prize drawings that will be held when the Blizzard of Books concludes in March. Grand prizes include Entertainment Coupon Books, three $20 gift certificates to The Bookman book store and a spice gift basket.
